Running the Survey

The Hutton team and the architect were challenged to consolidate operations formerly performed in three facilities into one master location that effectively and efficiently served all functions of the three former buildings. The proposed central location in the town of El Dorado also happened to be the former site of a gas station. We were charged with performing environmental surveys to assess the extent of any potential ground contamination, to remediate the contamination and to design a ventilation system that would ensure that there would not be any future issues. Our hands-on approach and teamwork was greatly responsible for minimizing the expense of the remediation and ventilation system, which then translated to a happy owner in a preferred location.

Laying the Foundation

As an early addition to the project team, Hutton was able to provide value right out of the gates. With uncertainty about the location of the project due to the amount of potentially contaminated soil, Hutton stepped in and, with the cooperation of an environment specialist, was able to provide an accurate site budget long before solicitation of any subcontractor bids.

The Finishing Touches

As a long-time partner with Commerce Bank we understand the importance of client standards and their desire to aesthetically impress customers as they visit the bank. Materials such as granite countertops, cherry wall paneling and veneer teller lines, stainless steel accent trims and polished Portuguese porcelain tile make this building a perfect specimen, and a tribute to Commerce Bank’s commitment to impress. International materials such as those found in the lobby often can cause coordination and scheduling glitches, but with an open line of communication between the owner, architect, subcontractors and Hutton Construction, we were able to complete the lobby without a glitch. Commerce even made a couple of last-minute additions, which were incorporated seamlessly by Hutton without any changes to the project budget or schedule.
