Running the Survey
In 2001 when the members of Westlink Christian Church decided to move from 10th and Tyler to the quickly growing intersection at 21st and Maize, they needed a builder that could tackle a large project, help them work within their budget, and collaborate with their architects to create a facility that would support their mission of connecting with growing families. Then, just a few short years later, growth in church membership and the clarification of their mission necessitated an addition devoted to children and youth.
Laying the Foundation
The initial project had many unique attributes, including cast-in-place concrete riser seating, high-tech audio/visual system, centrally controlled HVAC systems and an architectural precast concrete exterior that we produced ourselves on casting tables built right on site to save trucking costs. As unique as the original building was, the 2006 addition took things to whole new level. Dedicated to children and youth, the interior spaces were themed around the different ministries: The Neighborhood for elementary children and Ignite for middle- and high-schoolers.
The Finishing Touches
Take a walk through this first-class facility and you can easily sense Westlink’s vibrancy and see how the building supports their mission of being “The Family Place.” Wide-open atriums allow for connections between services, and the themed spaces are always teeming with happy little faces. An example of how a great building can be a strategic asset for an organization. One last thing and a point of personal satisfaction for our team: with parts nearly 10 years old, it looks and functions just like new. Quality construction is a lasting investment.
