Running the Survey

Every once in a while we get to work on a truly special project, one that is more than just a job, one that works on us more than we work on it. Cora’s Playground is just such a project, a memorial to a precious baby, not quite one year old, lost to cancer. The project started as just a thought in the minds of Cora’s parents, Jess and Joel. When we heard about it, we knew we wanted to be involved and help however we could.

Laying the Foundation

Working directly with Cora’s parents, Grace Community Church, the playground equipment suppliers and many area subcontractors and volunteers, we were able to design a playground that would fit within the tight budget. Many in the community contributed time or money, and donations poured in from literally all over the country.

The Finishing Touches

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, hundreds gathered to celebrate the completion of the playground and remember Cora. It was fitting that the crowd that day included many children, eager for their chance to explore the new space. Most amazing, though, was the impact that the 341 days Cora shared with us had on everyone there. While small in scope, this project was huge in so many other ways, and we are proud to have done our little part. It ranks as one of our favorite projects ever.
