Running the Survey
Cedar Lakes was ready to move forward with reconstructing the clubhouse after a fire had destroyed it in December 2009. In May 2010, Cedar Lakes selected Hutton Construction as construction manager for the project. We understood that each resident had a stake in the new facility and wanted to make sure that all residents felt an ownership.
Laying the Foundation
The Hutton team worked closely with the design team in budgeting different options to give Cedar Lakes the accurate information it needed to make informed decisions about the facility. In addition to the features that were originally planned, Hutton suggested constructing outdoor pool restrooms so they could be used as storm shelters, and the residents were able to add a resurfaced parking lot for the clubhouse as part of the project. Once decisions were made, the crew worked with residents to allow periodic inspections so they could witness the progress firsthand.
The Finishing Touches
The final outcome is a space that all residents are proud to show off and use to the fullest. With both an indoor and an outdoor pool, residents can enjoy a swim regardless of the Kansas weather. The large meeting area is complemented by a large kitchen, fireplace and outdoor patio.
