Leadership
“Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.”
What I'm Excited About Lately
Our refreshed brand look and a renewed focus on what makes Hutton special.
Favorite City Architecture
As much as I like modern minimalistic style, there is no denying that the architecture and means of construction in the buildings of the ancient cities of Italy are remarkable.

State-of-the-art heart hospital. Try saying that five times real fast. It’s the early project that sticks with Quentin where he really began to get his feet under him at the company. “On the Lubbock Heart Hospital I saw firsthand the importance of preparation and planning.” The project team pre-planned exhaustively, every aspect of the project, but it’s what made it possible to complete a 100,000-square-foot highly advanced heart hospital in eight and a half months.
Quentin’s early career path took him from a family business in Valley Center to K-State and then a Hutton summer internship. We like to think he was destined for Hutton, because right after graduation he became a project engineer and quickly moved up to project manager. Now he heads business development and much of his outside time is spent with potential and existing clients, telling the Hutton story and attending the Kansas Healthcare Engineers’ Association, Society for Marketing Professional Services and the Wichita Manufacturer’s Association.
Quentin likes that every job offers a different line-up, especially getting the project team organized and hitting goals on schedule. “One day we might be working on a K-12 school followed by a manufacturing facility, then a hospital.” That’s practically the Hutton story in a nutshell.
Family and friends are the most important things in his life. He and wife, Amy, are raising 2-year-old Griffin and expecting a new addition in early 2012. And we don’t mean building a new addition. “My family and friends bring such happiness, and balance to my life.” Balance comes in pretty handy with his other passions, too: wakeboarding, snowboarding and golfing. But never all at once.
