Leadership
“If your not the lead dog, your view never changes.”
What I'm Excited About Lately
It has been exciting to see the transition in leadership at the company. It has gone extremely well and brought about fresh ideas and energy. I'm excited for the next generation of ideas for project delivery and collaboration.
Most Interesting Building I've Seen
Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and European architecture in general. There is nothing in America that can compare to that history. Notre Dame was magnificent in how huge and intricate it was, and amazing to think how this kind of work was done during the time period it was built, considering the lack of sophisticated methods that we have now.

Peggy West
Vice President/CFO - pwest@huttonconstruction.com
Peggy’s long history at Hutton, knowledge of the accounting system and love of numbers make her the indispensible “go-to” person. That’s right. “Love of numbers.” Peggy’s tackled accounting challenges that would have a fainthearted CPA running in the other direction. We really think of her as our financial architect and builder all in one.
“It was exciting to come to work for Hutton Construction as the company was starting up and helping set up a new accounting system procedures.” She’d rather devise her own solution as part of a team than grab one off the shelf.
While she’s devoted time to community and professional organizations like the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and has been a longtime member and served on the board for three years in Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA), Peggy’s main passion is her family, husband, Paul, daughters Kelly, Sara and Lindsay and four grandkids, who are frequent visitors. Paul and Peggy aren’t the sit-at-home types. They’re both avid hikers and skiers, taking the whole family on trips to the mountains. Of course, football season means tailgating at K-State games. That pretty much goes without saying around here.
